This is an urgent notification from Pennsylvania American Water. A mandatory conservation notice has been issued as of 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, 2026, for customers in Bangor and Roseto boroughs and Plainfield, Upper Mt. Bethel and Washington townships due to drought conditions and freezing temperatures. Water discoloration may also occur. Customers must limit all non-essential water use until further notice. When conditions improve, customers will be notified that the mandatory conservation notice is lifted. During cold weather, customers may still allow a trickle of water to run to avoid frozen pipes. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this impact to their water service. For more information on ways to conserve water or to see a map of the affected area please go to Pennsylvaniaamwater.com and click on ‘Alerts’. Thank you for your cooperation in restricting water use until this notice is lifted.
