A snow emergency has been declared in Bangor Borough due to the significant snowfall and hazardous road conditions that are expected this weekend. The declaration is in effect from 6 am Sunday, February 22nd until 6 pm on Monday, February 23rd.
During this time, all vehicles must be removed from designated snow emergency routes to facilitate snow removal and emergency services. There shall be no parking on either side of the following streets during the declaration of a snow emergency: North First Street from Market Street to the North Borough boundary; South First Street from Market Street South to the Borough boundary; North Main Street from Market Street North to the Borough boundary; South Main Street from Market Street South to Broadway; State Route 512 (a.k.a. Erdman Avenue) from South Main Street East to the Borough boundary; Broadway from South Main Street West to South Eighth Street; Market Street from Main Street West to the Borough boundary; Messinger Street from South First Street East to Center Street; South Main Street from Messinger Street South to Market Street; Pennsylvania Avenue from North Main Street West to North Eighth Street – No parking on the North side of the street. Vehicles left on these routes will be subject to ticketing and/or towing at the owner's expense.
Also, when moving vehicles from snow emergency routes to side streets, please do not park within 20 feet of any intersection to allow plow trucks and emergency vehicles to safely navigate throughout the Borough.
Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution when traveling and to stay informed about weather updates and road conditions.
