In line with federal and state requirements, PA American Water is developing an inventory of all water service line materials on both utility and customer sides. CDM Smith is serving as the program’s qualified contractor. Starting next week, canvassers will be going door-to–door to perform voluntary in-home inspections at properties where the service line materials are currently unknown to identify any potential lead service lines. Canvassers will be wearing appropriate PPE, have American Water badges for identification, and program windshield signs will be visible in their vehicles.
