Important Notice from Pennsylvania American Water: As part of Pennsylvania American Water’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program, our crews will be working in your area beginning this week to determine the material of select customers’ water service lines. A water service line connects the water main in the street to your home or property. These lines may be made of copper, plastic, galvanized steel, or lead. In some cases, determining the material requires digging a small, temporary hole—typically near the curb—to visually inspect the service line. You can self-identify the material of your service line at pennsylvaniaamwater.com/leadfacts. Responses from customers help reduce the need for test pitting on private property. If your line is not identified, Pennsylvania American Water or our authorized contractor may contact you or visit your property to conduct an inspection or perform test pitting. Any disturbed areas will be restored following the inspection. All Pennsylvania American Water representatives and contractors will carry official company photo identification and wear logoed, high visibility safety vests. If you are a landlord, please share this information with your tenants. For more information, visit pennsylvaniaamwater.com or contact our project contractor, CDM Smith, at 717 581 8599.
