The Mahoning Township Police Department is proud to announce that it was awarded reaccreditation by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission on June 2, 2026, during the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association Annual Conference.

Originally accredited in 2023, the department successfully completed its three-year reassessment, demonstrating continued compliance with the highest professional standards in law enforcement. Fewer than 20% of Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies maintain accredited status, making this a significant achievement for our department.

Accreditation promotes professionalism, accountability, officer safety, operational excellence, and public trust through adherence to recognized best practices.

Special recognition is extended to Accreditation Manager Officer Terry Ketchem and Assistant Accreditation Manager Sgt. Matthew Gerst for their hard work and dedication in leading the reaccreditation effort.
