On April 23, 2026, the Montgomery Township Police Department was presented with the Certificate of Law Enforcement Accreditation by Chief Jim Adams (Ret.), Accreditation Program Coordinator of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.
On January 9, 2026, the Montgomery Township Police Department underwent a Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC) assessment for accreditation. The process of attaining and maintaining this distinction is rigorous, requiring the development and adherence to policies encompassing more than 145 standards. Beyond policy development, accredited agencies must continuously demonstrate compliance with these standards through comprehensive documentation. These policies and proofs are subject to a thorough inspection every three years by assessors from the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association to ensure continued compliance.
We are proud to announce that the Montgomery Township Police Department was again reaccredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission and recognized as a Premier Agency by the Commission.
