The Lower Moreland Police Department is issuing a heat wave safety alert to all residents. A prolonged period of high temperatures is expected in our area, and we want to remind everyone to take necessary precautions to stay safe.

Heat Wave Safety Tips:

Drink plenty of water
Skip the alcohol
Cool off in AC
Limit time outdoors
Wear light, loose clothing
Check on older family and neighbors
never leave kids or pets in a vehicle

Heat-Related Illnesses:

Be aware of the signs of heat-related illnesses, such as:

• High body temperature (above 103°F)
• Confusion or altered mental status
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache or fatigue
• Rapid pulse or shallow breathing
