The Hatboro Police Department is warning residents of a recent scam involving a caller claiming to be "Sgt. Gilbert" from our department. The scammer is contacting individuals, stating they have missed jury duty and demanding payment to avoid arrest.

Important: This is a scam! The Hatboro Police Department does not employ anyone by the name of Sgt. Gilbert, and we will never call you to demand payment for missing jury duty.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be Sgt. Gilbert or any other law enforcement officer demanding payment, do not provide any personal or financial information. Instead, hang up and contact the Hatboro Police Department directly to report the incident. 

We urge all residents to remain vigilant and protect themselves from these types of scams. Remember, law enforcement agencies will never call you to demand payment or threaten arrest over the phone.
