On June 25th, 2024 at approximately 02:15 A.M., officers of the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to a noise complaint to the area of Bartion Court. The caller advised that a vehicle was driving around the neighborhood playing loud music. Officers patrolled the area and observed a silver Hyundai Elantra driving in both lanes of travel and playing loud music. The vehicle then pulled into a driveway, where the driver and defendant, Russell Warren, of East Stroudsburg, exited and attempted to enter a residence. Officers made contact with the defendant and the passenger, Shawn Gilson. Officers observed several open cans of alcohol inside the vehicle, to include one still being held by Gilson. Gilson was visibly intoxicated and proceeded to argue with officers about being able to drink alcohol in a moving vehicle.
A DUI investigation followed with the defendant, and Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted. The defendant was found to be impaired and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Gilson was charged with having an open container in a vehicle.
