On July 11, 2023, at approximately 6 pm, Officers of the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to the Crossings Outlets in Tannersville for reports of a male overdosing. Officers made contact with the defendant, Michael Thorne a 37-year-old male from Long Pond, in one of the public restrooms at the Crossings Outlets. Michael was suffering from an apparent overdose inside one of the bathroom stalls. Officers forced entry and performed life saving measures to revive Michael. Michael was found to be in possession of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl and syringes. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and charges have been filed for possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia, and public intoxication.
