On Friday, January 17th, 2025, at approximately 2010 hours, an officer from Pocono Township Police Department was on patrol in the area of SR0611 and SR0715 when he observed a black Volvo fail to use a turn signal to change lanes into a turning lane. The officer continued to follow the vehicle and observed the rear and side windows to be obstructed and conducted a traffic stop at SR0715 and Sullivan Trail. The officer made contact with Karen Swartz, a 53-year-old female from Henryville PA and observed signs of impairment. After further investigation the officer determines Karen was under the influence of a controlled substance and transported her to the Monroe County DUI center to be fingerprinted and processes. Charges for DUI and traffic infractions were filed on this case.
