On April 21st, 2026 at approximately 11am. Officers of The Pocono Township Police Department responded to and address on Mattioli RD in Bartonsville for a report of a physical domestic dispute. After an investigation it as determined that Melquan Kirton, a 28 year old male, pushed his pregnant girlfriend, a 22 year old female from Bartonsville to the ground and hit her in the face with a bottle of lotion causing injuries to her arm and face. St. Luke's EMS responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. 

Kirton was taken into custody and charged with Misdemeanor Simple Assault and Summary Harassment. Kirton was arraigned before the Honorable Magistrate Kresge, and placed in The Monroe County Correctional Facility with bail of $7500 secured. 

All suspects and arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
