On August 15th, 2026, an officer with the Pocono Township Police Department was on routine patrol on Route 611 in Scotrun. The officer observed a white Nissan Murano traveling south on Rt 611 without having its headlights or taillights activated. The officer continued following the vehicle and observed that it also failed to use its turn signal appropriately while making a right-hand turn onto Hill Motor Lodge Rd in Tannersville. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Maurice Gatlin, a 50-year-old male from New Jersey. The officer noted signs of impairment and began a DUI investigation. As a result, Gatlin was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Charges have been filed in relation to this incident.
