On Friday, August 8th, 2025 at 2124 hours, an officer with the Pocono Township Police Department observed a traffic violation for no turn signal on a Gray Acura MDX and the driver on his cell phone in the area of SR0715 and Warner Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Jacob Amato, a 35-year-old male from Hummelstown PA and the odor of marijuana was detected from the inside of the vehicle. The officer confirmed that Jacob did not have a medical marijuana card issued to him. Through further investigation and a consented search of the vehicle, the officer was able to locate a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Jacob has been charged with possession of marijuana and other related charges.
