On September 15th, 2020 City of Bradford Police began an investigation into theft of money from a victims bank account using her debit card. The victims card had been used a total of 98 times for a total of $11,228.31. This made it a felony investigation based on the high dollar amount. Through investigation Police learned that Melissa Ann Smith was the actor that used the bank card 98 times without authorization. Melissa Ann Smith was subsequently arrested and arraigned by Magistrate William Todd of Smethport. Smith was released on unsecured bail awaiting preliminary hearing.
