As you celebrate St. Patrick's Day this weekend, the Penn College Police Department wants to remind everyone to prioritize their safety and well-being. With large parties and gatherings likely taking place, it's essential to be aware of your surroundings and take necessary precautions. Be responsible.
Stay Safe, Stay Smart:
- Plan Ahead: Designate a sober driver or arrange for a safe ride home before the party starts.
- Stay with Friends: Attend parties with a group of friends and look out for each other.
- Know Your Limits: Drink responsibly and pace yourself. Avoid overconsumption of alcohol.
- Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Keep an eye on your drinks and belongings, and avoid leaving them unattended.
- Trust Your Instincts: If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, leave the situation immediately.
- See Something, Say Something: If you see something suspicious or unsafe, call 911. Extra patrols will be in the area.
- Open Containers: Williamsport has a city ordinance prohibiting the possession of open alcoholic containers on any street, alley, sidewalk, parking lot, etc. Violators may be subject to citations.
- Respect the Community: Be considerate of others in the community. Don't trespass on property of others, don't litter, and keep the volume down so everyone can enjoy the day.
Remember, your safety is our top priority. If you need assistance or have concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to the Penn College Police Department.
