On August 30, 2026, at approximately 3:08 a.m., Hazleton City Police responded to the intersection of South Church Street and West Walnut Street for a report of a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash involving a rollover.

Upon arrival, officers located a Subaru on its roof. The operator was identified as Brian Otero-Acevedo.

During the investigation, Otero-Acevedo was taken into custody on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). He submitted to a blood test as part of the investigation.

The vehicle struck a fire hydrant, a no-parking sign, and a city light pole during the crash.

There are no reported injuries due to this crash.
