To deter the theft of Kia and Hyundai vehicles, the Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department is giving away free steering wheel locks to Hyundai and Kia owners in Palmyra Borough.
Certain Kia (2011-2021) and Hyundai (2011-2022) vehicles have become targets due to a security flaw that allows the vehicle to be hotwired. Palmyra PD has a limited number of free locks for Hyundai and Kia vehicles that use key ignition (not push button).
Locks are available on a first come, first serve basis at the police department, 325 South Railroad St, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
Hyundai and Kia donated the locks to the department at no cost.
