As we celebrate America's 250th Anniversary and Independence Day, the South Lebanon Township Police Department wishes everyone a fun, safe, and responsible holiday. If you plan to use consumer fireworks, please remember that Pennsylvania law places important restrictions on when, where, and how they may be used.
• Within 150 feet of any occupied structure or vehicle (including your own).
• On public or private property without the property owner's permission.
• While under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
• If directed toward another person, vehicle, building, or animal.
• In any manner that endangers a person or property or creates an unsafe or hazardous condition.
While fireworks are a fun part of celebrating Independence Day, please remember that many of your neighbors—including veterans, young children, shift workers, pet owners, and those with medical conditions—may be affected by excessive noise. Celebrate responsibly, be mindful of your surroundings, and help ensure everyone can enjoy the holiday safely.
If you observe the illegal or unsafe use of consumer fireworks, please report it through the non-emergency number: 717-272-2054. If a fire, injury, or other emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.
Violations of Pennsylvania's fireworks laws may result in citations, fines, and the confiscation of fireworks.
From all of us at the South Lebanon Township Police Department, we wish you a safe, enjoyable, and memorable Fourth of July as we celebrate America's 250th Anniversary! 🎇
