On July 7, 2026, Union Pacific's famed Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will make a whistle stop in Lebanon. The train, measuring approximately 1,800 feet in length, will occupy the rail corridor between 8th Street and 4th Street.
The arrival of Big Boy No. 4014 will be accompanied by a public event in the 200 block of North 8th Street. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., visitors can enjoy food vendors, activities, and special attractions as the community gathers to welcome the world’s largest operating steam locomotive. Big Boy No. 4014 is expected to arrive at 1:30 p.m. and depart at approximately 2:15 p.m.
The event and train stop are expected to attract thousands of visitors. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, the following road closures will be in effect:
Road Closures
July 6 at 2:00 p.m. through July 7 at 3:00 p.m.
- 8th Street: CL Street to Scull St – will extend to Church St at 10:00 p.m.
July 6 at 10:00 p.m. through July 7 at 3:00 p.m.
- 7th Street: Weidman Street to the YMCA entrance
- 5th Street: Weidman Street to the PA Counseling entrance
- 4th Street: Weidman Street to Schneider Drive
- Scull Street: 8th Street to Old North 9th Street
- Gannon Street at Scull Street
- New Street at Scull Street
- Hornet Street at Scull St
Parking will also be affected in these designated areas.
