Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost that day. We remember the families who received devastating news, the survivors who carried on, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

Most of all, we honor the first responders who ran toward danger when others were desperately trying to escape it. Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, emergency personnel, and ordinary people answered the call to help their fellow Americans. Many never came home.

Their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to carry their memory with us.

We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who served.
We stand with the families who continue to grieve.
We will never forget.
