LEBANON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO ASSIST ICE IN DEPORTING ILLEGAL CRIMINALS WITHIN LEBANON COUNTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEBANON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO ASSIST ICE IN DEPORTING ILLEGAL CRIMINALS WITHIN LEBANON COUNTY;
LEBANON COUNTY DETAINED ITS FIRST SUSPECT IN CONJUNCTION WITH ICE ON FEBRUARY 25, 2025

The Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office and members of Lebanon County Law Enforcement are actively assisting with the location, detention, and deportation of illegal criminals within Lebanon County. Yesterday, the Lebanon City Police Department received the County’s first ICE detainer lodged on an illegal criminal as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

Since taking Office, President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan prioritized the identification, detention, and deportation of illegal criminals across the Country. The Lebanon County DA’s Office immediately acted to collaborate and work with ICE Agents towards these goals. Priorities include deportation of convicted criminals within Lebanon County who entered the country and remained here illegally. The DA’s Office also collaborated with ICE to identify ways officers can proactively identify whether a suspect in an ongoing investigation is here illegally. If so, the criminal is subject to ICE detention and deportation. The Officer immediately supplies the criminal’s information to the on-duty ICE agent who then lodges the ICE detainer and starts deportation proceedings. The ICE detainer remains separate and additional to any criminal charges and any bail set as a result.

On February 25, 2025, the Lebanon City Police Department became the first within the County to act. Officers responded to a location within Lebanon City for the report of a domestic disturbance. Police realized the suspect, Christopehr PEREYRA PENA, triggered the criteria necessary to notify ICE. ICE immediately lodged a detainer. Pena is detained both on the Criminal charge of Simple Assault and the ICE detainer which subjects him to deportation proceedings.

“Protecting the citizens of Lebanon County from criminals is always the highest priority of my Office. Protecting the citizens and their resources from illegal criminals goes hand-in-hand. To all criminals within Lebanon County, yes, we will prosecute you. The current Administration in the White House, however, enabled us to also do what you truly deserve – remove you from the Country and access to its people whom you preyed upon and attacked. Illegal criminals residing within County Lines will be identified and removed,” said District Attorney Pier Hess Graf.
