In August of 2020, The Susquehanna Regional Police Department initiated a criminal investigation after a complaint was made regarding Avery E.I. Sanchis, 23 year old male, performing sexual intercourse forcibly onto a 14 year old female. DNA was found at the scene and was able to be analyzed. DNA was obtained from both the victim and Sanchis which were than compared to the found DNA, showing a match of both. As a result of the investigation, the Lancaster County Office of the District Attorney authorized the following charges against Avery E.I. Sanchis: 3 counts of Rape (F1), 3 counts of Statutory Sexual Assault (F1), 3 counts of Aggravated Indecent Assault (F2), Corruption of Minors (F3), 3 counts of Indecent Assault (M1, M2), and Unauthorized Use of Automobiles (M2).
An Arrest Warrant was issued and Avery Sanchis turned himself in on Friday, April 30, 2021. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Randy Miller and given $100,000 bail, which Sanchis posted.
Sanchis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
