The Millersville Borough Police Department has received a donation of Autism Safety and Sensory Kits from Ken Eckert and the Millersville Lions Club. These kits provide essential tools and aids to help first responders, including police officers, firefighters, and EMTs, support individuals with autism during emergency situations. The kits are equipped with specialized items, such as communication cards, weighted blankets, earmuffs, and darkening glasses, which have been proven effective in calming and communicating with individuals in crisis. Additionally, the kits include tactile objects and message boards to facilitate communication. Thanks to the generosity of Ken Eckert and the Lions Club, every police cruiser will now be equipped with one of these valuable kits, enabling our officers to better serve the community in these situations. We are thankful for the ongoing support and kindness shown by the Lions Club to our department.
