The Millersville Borough Police Department is saddened to announce the passing of retired Detective and Magisterial District Judge Leo "Jack" Eckert, 81. In honor of his dedicated service to the Millersville community, we are flying the flag at half-staff.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Millersville and served the community with distinction for 37 years. He spent 19 years with the Millersville Borough Police Department, from 1974 to 1993, serving as a patrol officer and detective. After his retirement from the police department, he was elected as Magisterial District Judge in 1994, a position he held for 18 years until 2012. Even in retirement, Jack continued to serve the community as a substitute MDJ whenever needed.
Throughout his entire professional career, Jack demonstrated a deep commitment to public service, dedicating his life to the community he knew and loved. His legacy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
