In late 2019 the Lancaster Bureau of Police Selective Enforcement Unit (SEU) launched an investigation into illegal drugs sales that involved a group that utilized residences on the 500 blk. S. Lime St. and 300 blk. Beaver St.
Members of SEU learned that in addition to the sales of illegal drugs, members of this group were likely involved in violent gun related crimes in Lancaster City.
On Monday April 27, 2020 at approximately 0600 hrs. SEU, Lancaster County SERT, Lancaster County DTF and members of the Lancaster Bureau of Police executed search warrants at the residences on 500 blk. S. Lime St. and 300 blk. Beaver St. The warrants were served simultaneously.
As a result of the search warrants (3) guns were recovered at the residence on S. Lime St. : a .22 rifle that had a shortened/cut barrel and obliterated serial number, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and a .380 semi-automatic handgun. The 9mm handgun had been previously reported at stolen.
Arrested at the residence on 300 blk. Beaver St. :
Kyrel Woods M/29 500 blk. Manor St. Lancaster, PA
Charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver (PWID) Cocaine (F), Possession Drug Paraphernalia (F) after he was found to be in possession of several baggies of cocaine that were packaged for individual sale.
Woods was processed on the complaint and held for arraignment. Woods was later committed to LCP in lieu of $200,000 bail. Lancaster County Adult Probation also issued a Detainer for Woods.
Arrested at the residence on 500 blk. S. Lime St. :
Jose Acosta M/22 100 blk. Ruby St. Lancaster, PA
Charged with 3 Counts- Persons Not To Possess (etc.) Firearms (F2), Possession of Firearm with Altered/ Obliterated Serial Number (F2), Receiving Stolen Property (F3), 4 Counts- Corruption of Minors (M1), Institutional Vandalism (F3), Possession Small Amount Marijuana (M), Possession Drug Paraphernalia (M)
Acosta also had (2) criminal complaints filed for Delivery of Cocaine (F) and Criminal Use of a Communications Facility (F3) from earlier in the investigation.
Acosta was processed on the complaints and held for arraignment. Acosta was committed to LCP in lieu of a total of $700,000 bail (200k each for prior Deliveries and 300k for firearms related complaint) Lancaster County Adult Probation also issued a Detained for Acosta.
(4) juveniles were also arrested at the residence on the 500 blk. S. Lime St. They were a 17 year old male, (2) 16 year old males and a 16 year old female.
All 4 juveniles had allegations filed before Lancaster County Juvenile Probation. The charges listed on the allegations were Possession of Firearm by Minor (F), Possession of Firearm with Altered/ Obliterated Serial Number (F2), Receiving Stolen Property (F3), Possession Small Amount Marijuana (M), Possession Drug Paraphernalia (M)
All (4) juveniles were processed on the allegations and detained at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center (YIC).
The investigation into the origins of the guns and if they were used in any additional crimes is ongoing.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court of adjudicated delinquent.
