Officers are at the scene for a pedestrian struck. This occurred at the intersection of E. King St. and Ann St. The pedestrian struck was a child. The child is at the hospital for observation and treatment. There is no information on injuries at this time. One of the child's parents was at the scene and is at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is speaking with Officers. E. King St. is currently closed to eastbound traffic at Plum St. We will post an update when he have information on the road closure, condition of the patient and details of the investigation.

Officers and Detectives continued the investigation through the night and into the early morning hours.
The pedestrian that was struck is a (4) year old male resident of Elizabethtown, Lancaster County. The child is currently at Hershey Medical Center with multiple traumatic injuries.
The driver of the vehicle is a (26) year old female resident of Lancaster Township, Lancaster County. The vehicle involved in the crash is a 2008 Chevrolet Impala sedan.
Officers and Detectives were able to speak with witnesses, the driver and people that had been with the child prior to the crash. Surveillance video was collected from private, commercial and Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras in the area.
Preliminary information gathered is that the child, parents and a family friend were in a grocery store on the 400 blk. E. King St. Prior to the crash, the family friend left the store to retrieve something from a parked vehicle. The friend did not realize that the child had followed outside of the store and crossed the 400 blk. E. King St. behind the family friend.
The driver of the Impala drove east on the 400 blk. E. King St. approaching Ann St. The driver did not see the child until he crossed the street directly into the path of her vehicle. The child was struck by the vehicle. The child's mother and family friend ran to the child as the driver of the Impala exited her vehicle and remained at the scene.
There is still much that has to do done and this investigation has not been completed. Our agency is working in close consultation with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office.
