The Lancaster City Bureau of Police will conduct aggressive driving enforcement activities in Lancaster City from July 8 through August 18, 2024, as part of a statewide initiative.
Over 300 municipal police agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police will focus on motorists exhibiting aggressive driving behaviors such as speeding, heavy truck violations, pedestrian safety, red light running, and tailgating. All aggressive driving actions will be cited. This enforcement is part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program and is funded by part of PennDOT’s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
In 2023, there were 6,610 aggressive driving crashes, resulting in 121 fatalities and 409 suspected serious injuries in Pennsylvania. For more information on aggressive driving, visit PennDOT.pa.gov/Safety.
