On Monday October 21, 2019 at approximately 0029 hrs., Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon B, responded to the 1st blk. E. Farnum St. for a complaint of an assault and unlawful restraint that had occurred throughout the day on Sunday October 20, 2019.
The reporting person, an adult female, reported that (2) males had robbed and assaulted her boyfriend and had held them at gunpoint during the day on the 20th. The reporting person told responding Officers that she believed the suspects were in a car on E. Farnum St. and were still armed with a handgun.
Officers located the vehicle in question, a black Chevrolet Cruze, and found that it was occupied by Jamal Burrell M/21 and Antoine Burrell M/43. The males and vehicle were brought to the station as the investigation continued. The pair are father/son.
The reporting person's boyfriend was taken to the hospital for treatment but eloped from that location before he could receive it.
Jamal Burrell was found to be a wanted person from the State of Delaware. An inventory of the vehicle revealed a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. That gun had been reported as stolen to the Ephrata Police Department.
The investigation into the assault and unlawful restraint is still unresolved and remains under investigation.
Both Jamal Burrell and Antione Burrell were charged with Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License (M1) and Receiving Stolen Property (F3). Jamal Burrell was also charged as a Fugitive From Justice for the warrant out of Delaware. Both are being processed on the complaints and are awaiting arraignment. Bail information was not available as of the time of this press release.
