Incident 1: 8/27/2022 at 1816 hours at 777 Manor Street
Officer Yoder attempted a vehicle stop at 777 Manor St. for a tail light violation. The driver of the vehicle, a juvenile suspect, failed to stop and intentionally rammed Officer Yoder’s cruiser to exit the parking lot during the stop. The juvenile suspect then backed out on to Manor St. and intentionally rammed Officer Yoder’s cruiser a second time as he tried to follow the juvenile suspect out on to Manor St. The juvenile suspect then drove backwards down Manor St to 715 Manor where Officer Yoder was able to push the suspect vehicle onto the sidewalk to end the vehicle pursuit. The juvenile suspect exited the vehicle and he was taken into custody by Officer Yoder. The juvenile suspect was found to be in possession of handgun. A second handgun was located on the floor of the vehicle. Both guns were found to be stolen. The juvenile suspect was also found to be in possession marijuana and cocaine. During this vehicle pursuit two unknown suspects exited the car and fled on foot.
The juvenile suspect was charged with two counts Aggravated Assault (F1), two counts of Receiving Stolen Property (F2), two counts of Carrying a Firearm Without a License (F3), one count of Fleeing and Eluding Police (F3), two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (M1), three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (M), one count of Possession Small Amount of Marijuana (M), and two Traffic Violations (S).
Incident 2: 8/27/2022 at 1842 hours at 655 Manor St
During incident 1 Selective Enforcement Unit officers and Street Operation Group (SOG) officers responded to the area of Manor St. to assist with locating the two suspects that fled from the vehicle pursuit. Officer Hamby observed a juvenile suspect, matching the description of one of the fleeing occupants walking on Crystal St. The juvenile suspect was clutching his waistband as if he was holding a firearm. SOG officers attempted to stop the juvenile suspect and he fled on foot. Det. Smith and Officers Deibler, Conard and Baker were able to arrest the juvenile suspect who was found and found to be in possession of a stolen handgun and crack cocaine. The juvenile suspect also had an NCIC warrant, and was listed as a runaway. It was later determined that this juvenile suspect was not connected to the initial vehicle stop from incident 1.
The juvenile suspect was charged with one count of Receiving Stolen Property (F2), one count of Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License (F3), one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (M1), and one count of Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine (F).
