On 4 November 2021, at 8:41 am an on-duty officer from the East Hempfield Township Police Department was traveling through the 100 block of Hershey Ave in Lancaster City, while on routine business. As the officer passed through the area of Hershey Ave and High Street, he heard gunshots and then observed an adult male standing along the roadway holding gun. The officer requested assistance from additional officers. When back-up officers arrived, they helped detain the suspect and located a male victim, who was found to have multiple gunshot wounds. The injured person was conscious and stable at the scene and was conveyed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victim has been identified as a 32 year-old Lancaster City resident. Officers and Detectives from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to the call and took over the scene. The shooter was conveyed to the Lancaster City Police station and an investigation was initiated.
The scene was secured and processed for evidence. Officers and detectives helped identify witnesses and conducted interviews. Investigators have learned that the shooting victim and the suspect are known to each other and engaged in a brief verbal confrontation immediately prior to the shooting. Investigators also learned that during the verbal confrontation, the suspect pulled a handgun and then fired the handgun multiple times, striking the victim. The victim suffered injuries to the head, torso and arm and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The shooting suspect has been identified as Daijour Lamark STENNETT, a 30 year-old male resident of the 700 block W. Vine Street, in Lancaster City. Detective Ryan Burgett has charged STENNETT with one count of Criminal Attempt at Criminal Homicide (F-1), one count of Aggravated Assault (F-1), one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M-2) and Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License (F-3) before Magisterial District Judge Adam Witkonis. STENNETT is currently being held at the Lancaster City Police station for processing. STENNETT was denied bail at arraignment.

On 4 November 2021 at 8:41 am an on duty officer was traveling through the 100 block of Hershey Ave. when the officer observed an adult male firing a gun at a second adult male. The officer requested assistance from additional officers. The person firing the gun was detained and secured and the second male was found to have multiple gunshot wounds. The injured person was conscious and stable at the scene and was conveyed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The shooter was conveyed to the police station.
At this time the scene is secure and being processed. Officers and detectives are on scene seeking additional witnesses and processing evidence. There is no immediate additional danger to the public from this incident. The investigation is at the early stages and additional information will follow this release.
