***UPDATE on April 14, 2025:
On April 14, 2025, at approximately 9:51 am, Lancaster City police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Mulberry Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male gunshot wound victim. The victim was treated on scene by EMS personnel and transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, the shooter was identified as David Pearce, 25. Investigators determined that Pearce and the victim knew each other. Pearce is currently in police custody, we do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
Charges for Pearce are currently pending. Once the charges are confirmed, we will update this post.
The 400 block of N. Mulberry St. has re-opened, and normal traffic activity has resumed.

The Lancaster City police are currently investigating a shooting that took place in the 400 block of N. Mulberry St. Officers have closed the 400 block of N. Mulberry St. until further notice as detectives collect evidence and speak to witnesses at the scene. We ask the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. We will update this post when more information becomes available.
