Lancaster Bureau of Police are on the 800 blk. E. King St. at Broad St.
A traffic stop of a wanted person, Gerald Grauert ,was made shortly after 0800 hrs. Grauert was taken into custody.
During the protests in Lancaster City on Sunday, Police were notified that an unknown male was making statements about burning down the Police station. Images of the male were shared with Police and on social media sites. Our Investigators identified the male as Grauert. Charges were filed and a warrant was obtained.
A K9 (trained in explosives detection) sweep of the exterior of the vehicle indicated the presence of an odor that is part of their training.
PSP was notified and their specialists are en-route.
Traffic is being detoured in the area.
Eastbound traffic is blocked at E. King and N. Franklin St., northbound traffic is blocked at S. Broad St. and Conestoga St. Southbound traffic is blocked at N. Broad St. at E. Orange St.
Drivers and pedestrians should avoid the area. We will advise when traffic routes are re-opened.
