On January 10, 2026, at approximately 3:35 am, Lancaster City police officers responded to Lancaster General Hospital for a reported sexual assault. The victim reported the alleged assault occurred in the early morning hours of January 9, 2026. Shortly after the report was made and after interviewing the victim, officers initiated the investigation, including the collection of surveillance footage from Lancaster Safety Coalition (LSC) and other private cameras.
The investigation determined the suspect took the victim, in the victim’s vehicle, along with the victim’s friend. Once the friend exited the vehicle, the suspect reportedly took the victim to a different location and sexually assaulted the victim. Police officers quickly identified the suspect as Ronald Shubert by tracking the vehicle’s movements throughout the city using footage from the Safety Coalition and other private cameras. This collaboration was critical in establishing a timeline of events and supporting the charges.
As a result of this investigation, Detective Valverde has charged Shubert with the following: Rape of an Unconscious Victim (F1), Aggravated Indecent Assault – Complainant Unconscious or Unaware (F2), Indecent Assault – Without Consent of Another (M2), Kidnapping to Facilitate a Felony (F1), Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (M2), Credit Card Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use (M1), Receiving Stolen Property (M3), Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence (M2), Driving While License Suspended/Revoked, and a Third or Subsequent Violation (M3).
