On October 17, 2025, around 5 pm, Lancaster City police officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of 500 W King St. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital. The 1st block of Mary was temporarily closed but has since reopened.

Roberto Sanchez-Garcia, 24 years old, was arrested in connection with this incident and charged with the following: (1) count of Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon (F2), (1) count of Aggravated Assault (F1), (1) count of Persons Not To Possess (F1), (1) count of Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License (F3), (3) counts of Discharged Firearm into Occupied Structure (F3), and (6) counts of Reckless Endangerment (M2).
