Update to October 01, 2021 press release.

 On October 04, 2021 The Elizabethtown Police amended the charge relating to the October 01, 2021 arrest of Christopher A. Mello for his role in the death in Elizabethtown PA on September 30, 2021.

After an extensive investigation and an autopsy performed on the victim by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office on October 04, 2021, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office has authorized that the previously filed Aggravated Assault charge lodged against Christopher A. Mello be amended to the charge of Criminal Homicide.

A Criminal Complaint was prepared by the Elizabethtown Police and filed at District Justice Randal Miller’s office in Elizabethtown.

Christopher Alexander Mello, 39, of Elizabethtown remains incarcerated in the Lancaster County Prison pending arraignment on the new charge.

Mello is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
