The East Lampeter Township Board of Supervisors recently recognized several of our police officers as well as citizens for their service and commitment to Community.
Detective Chris Jones was recognized by his peers being named the East Lampeter Township Police Department 2022 Officer of the Year. Detective Jones is a 22-year veteran of the department and has been assigned to the Detective Division since 2008. Detective Jones has been the lead investigator in multiple high-profile cases including homicide. Detective Jones assisted in the forming of the Lancaster County Human Trafficking Task Force which was responsible for over 30 arrests in 2022. Detective Jones was provided a plaque and monetary donation sponsored by the Leola Lions Club. Congratulations, Detective Jones!
Sergeant Bryan Kondras and Sergeant Greg Dolk were both recognized for 25 years of service to the communities of East Lampeter Township and Upper Leacock Township. Both officers have been awarded multiple letters of commendation for their work and have helped to train the next generation of police officers. Sergeant Kondras supervises Second Platoon and Sergeant Dolk supervises Fourth Platoon. Both Sergeants received a commemorative gift box to honor their service and anniversary. Thank You Sergeant Kondras and Sergeant Dolk for your service and your commitment to both the police department and our community.
The Board of Supervisors also recognized four of our citizens for over 15 years of service to the East Lampeter Township Youth Aid Panel (YAP): Mrs. Donna Hurley, Mrs. Judy Leonard, Mrs. Stacy Hastings, and Mr. Mark Lopez. The goal of YAP is to reduce youth recidivism in the criminal justice system; these volunteers have overseen summary and misdemeanor juvenile cases which were adjudicated outside of the juvenile court. Thank You to these individuals for choosing to make a difference in the lives of our youth, their families, and our community.
