At 10:22am on November 4th, 2022 the East Lampeter Township Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Old Philadelphia Pike for a report of a single vehicle crash.
Preliminary investigation shows that a yellow 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Old Philadelphia Pike; the motorcycle struck the curb on the southeast side of the roadway at the intersection with Chateau Hill. The operator separated from the motorcycle which slid across the roadway coming to rest in the westbound lane. The motorcycle operator was located in the eastbound lane.
The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as Samuel E. Bradley JR, 61 years old of Philadelphia, PA. Bradley sustained severe injuries and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. There is no evidence that Bradley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. There were no passengers on the motorcycle. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the East Lampeter Township Police Department.
The 1800 block of Old Philadelphia Pike was closed until approximately 1pm. The East Lampeter Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by: Lafayette Fire Company, LEMSA, Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, the District Attorney of Lancaster County, and the Lancaster County Major Crash Team.
