A Lancaster County judge sentenced a West Donegal Township man to one to two years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol
Judge Dennis Reinaker sentenced Steven C. Radtke, of the 1800 block of Rhoda Avenue, on Sept. 4. Radtke had pleaded guilty with no agreement in place to driving under the influence of alcohol, two counts of driving with a suspended license and one count of being a habitual offender.
In arguing for a state prison sentence, Assistant District Attorney Kyle Linardo, who prosecuted the case, submitted Radtke’s entire driving record to the court. Linardo walked the court through the 38-page record, which shows that Radtke has been convicted of dozens of other Vehicle Code violations dating back to 1979, to argue for the aggravated range sentence.
Though the offense is Radtke’s first DUI in a decade, it is his sixth lifetime conviction for that offense which, along with his continued driving on a suspended license, has also netted him a license suspension for the next 90 years.
Within days of the aggravated range sentence being handed down, Radtke, 63, motioned for it to be modified. Reinaker denied Radtke’s motion to modify his state prison sentence on Oct. 1.
Radtke was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol during a June 2025 traffic stop in the 1100 block of River Road in East Donegal Township. Radtke, whose license was suspended at the time because of a prior DUI conviction and several subsequent offenses for driving on a suspended license, refused a chemical test.
Prior to his most recent sentence Radtke had been convicted of five other DUIs dating back to the early 1990s. Radtke also has 15 prior convictions for driving while his operating privilege was suspended, 29 prior convictions for driving while his operating privilege was suspended for a DUI and one prior conviction for driving while his operating privilege was suspended for a DUI while he had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.02% or greater.
Before this most recent conviction Radtke’s license was suspended until the year 2117. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will calculate an additional suspension Radtke will receive due to the new conviction, which is likely run into the 2120s.
Susquehanna Regional Police Officer Joshua Rudy filed the charges.
