UPDATE 8/8/23: Defense counsel filed a PCRA that was granted and Judge Reinaker sentenced Daniel Glick Beiler to 8 to 20 years in state prison.
A Strasburg father and son were each sentenced Monday, November 29, in Lancaster County Court after pleading guilty to numerous sexual assault charges involving two young children occurring on multiple occasions between 2007 and 2017.
Lancaster County Judge Dennis Reinaker ordered sentence.
Daniel Glick Beiler, 52, was sentenced to 10-30 years in prison after pleading guilty to nine felony and six misdemeanor charges including statutory sexual assault, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
The offenses occurred when the elder Beiler was 35 and again years later at two different locations in Strasburg. The first victim was 13 and second victim between 14 and 19 at the time.
Daniel King Beiler, 25, was sentenced to 10 years of probation after pleading guilty to sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.
King Beiler will have restrictive conditions, serving the first four years on house arrest. He will also follow sex offender conditions 1-30 and need to complete 200 hours of community service where he is to work with other Amish in reducing this conduct.
The victim was between the ages of 8 and 10 when the younger Beiler, who was between 12 and 14 at the time, committed the offenses.
Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick prosecuted the case.
Trooper Amos Glick filed charges.
