A Lancaster city man and taxi driver was sentenced to 5-10 in prison on February 2 in Lancaster County Court.
Jesus Rosario, 55, was convicted on charges of sexual assault and indecent assault after a September trial. The jury heard evidence that Rosario picked up the victim and took her back to an apartment in Upper Leacock Township around 3 a.m. in July 2018.
Rosario entered the victim’s residence after offering to help her carry her belongings and sexually assaulted her.
Rosario, of the 100 block of E. Ross Street, faced up to 12 years in prison; Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle sentenced him up to 10 years saying he put himself in this situation and now had to go to prison to pay for what the jury convicted him of.
Assistant District Attorney Amy Muller prosecuted the case.
East Lampeter Township Police Department Detective Chris Jones filed charges.
