A Lancaster man will face numerous charges in County Court for having bundles of heroin, prescriptions meds, a switch blade-style knife, and a stolen pistol while driving under the influence this year.
Jonathan Vargas, 30, is prohibited from having firearms due to prior felony weapons and drug-dealing charges.
Police found Vargas under the influence on May 24 on East Mifflin Street in Lancaster city, according to testimony at a recent preliminary hearing.
At the end of the hearing, District Judge Jodie Richardson held all charges – including four felonies - for disposition in Lancaster County Court.
Police were called to the area for a reported medical issue, with Vargas being passed out in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle.

Those items included:
- A Glock pistol reported stolen in Lancaster city
- Five bundles of heroin
- Four Oxycodone pills
- A spring-powered knife
- Buphenorphrine and Naloxone strips
- Various drug paraphernalia
- $752 cash
Vargas is charged with four felonies, seven misdemeanors and a summary offense.
Vargas is presumed innocent.
