A Mount Joy Township man is charged with nine felonies for repeatedly groping a pre-teenage child.
Northwest Regional police also charged 36-year-old Shawn Caswell with a misdemeanor count of invasion of privacy for watching the child while the child was partially undressed.
District Judge Mary Sponaugle arraigned Caswell on Wednesday and set bail at $100,000, which was not immediately posted.
Caswell, 36, is presumed innocent.
Northwest Regional police Detective Kenneth Henry filed charges and outlined in an affidavit of probable cause conduct that happened earlier this year at Caswell’s home on Parkview Drive.
Police became aware of the conduct earlier this month when a relative of the child contacted police.
The child, in an interview with the Lancaster County Children’s Alliance, reported being groped by Caswell on at least three occasions. The child also said Caswell watched as the child was partially undressed in a bathroom, and that he refused to leave the room.
Caswell is charged with three felony counts each of unlawful contact with a child, indecent assault of a child and corruption of minors, along with the misdemeanor charge.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27.
