On July 20, 2026, at approximately 10:34 a.m., Officers with the East Hempfield Township Police Department were dispatched to a residence in 1100 block of Persimmon Dr., East Hempfield Township for a report of a stabbing.   Upon arrival police encountered 2 victims, a 24-year-old male, and a 28-year-old female, both residents of the home.  The male victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, the extent of which are unknown at this point. The female victim was inside the residence and determined to be deceased.  The initial investigation revealed a possible suspect, who also lived at the residence.  Police determined that the suspect had fled the residence prior to their arrival.  Additional police personnel from the PA State Police, as well as the Manheim Township Police department responded to the area to assist in locating the suspect.  An aviation unit from PSP and a MTPD K-9 unit were utilized.  Police located the suspect at 12:09 p.m. in the area of Rt. 30 and Good Dr., and he was taken into custody without incident.  Lancaster County Detectives are also assisting. There is no danger to the public, and the investigation is still underway.
