A full-time nanny charged with physically abusing a 7-month-old Brecknock Township girl will have her case proceed to county court after waiving her preliminary hearing. 

Tiffany Lynn Cooper, of West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, waived her preliminary hearing before Judge Jonathan Heisse on June 16 on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children.

Cooper, 20, is accused of physically abusing the victim at least seven different times at a Brecknock Township residence between September and November 2025. The victim suffered numerous injuries from multiple instances of abuse including nosebleeds and bruising on her face, hips, chest and abdomen.

When the victims’ parents confronted Cooper about the injuries she provided multiple excuses, claiming at times that bruises were caused by the victim falling off a couch, that a nosebleed occurred spontaneously and, at times, that she was unsure how the victim was injured.  A doctor who reviewed the victim’s injuries said Cooper’s claims that another child caused the injuries by tickling her were implausible and that they could have only been caused by physical abuse.

The victims’ parents fired Cooper in November 2025 after another one of their children said she had slapped him and pulled his hair. The boy later told a forensic interviewer that Cooper had hit the victim with her hands.

Cooper is currently free on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nicholas Reginella filed the charges.

Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Lapp will prosecute the case.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
