A Millersville teenager charged with firing a gun during a shootout in a Lancaster city neighborhood will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing. 

Chance Celotti, of the 100 block of North Prince Street, waived his preliminary hearing before Judge Adam Witkonis on June 22 on four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and one count each of rioting, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a firearm as a minor and recklessly endangering another person.

Celotti, 15, and two other co-defendants are accused of firing guns toward a group of people near a parking lot in the first block of Laurel Street and in the 600 block of Lafayette Street in Lancaster city the evening of May 19.

Surveillance footage from Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras and nearby businesses purport to depict Celotti and three others exchanging gunfire with four individuals shortly after 5 p.m. 

Police found numerous bullet casings and fragments scattered in the area and damage from gunfire.

Not only does Celotti not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, but he is not allowed to possess a weapon at all due to being a minor.

Celotti remains in the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center without bail.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police Sgt. Shawn Gunnet filed the charges.

Assistant District Attorney Andrew Harbaugh will prosecute the case.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
