A Manheim Borough man charged with severely beating two six-week-old infants, leaving them with multiple broken bones and other injuries, will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing.
Dillon McCarraher, 23, waived his preliminary hearing before Judge Michael Hess on March 25 on four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of children and two counts of simple assault.
McCarraher is accused of assaulting the infants at his residence in the 100 block of South Charlotte Street between August and September 2025.
Both children were found to have numerous injuries including multiple broken bones, bleeding of their eyes and bruises.
A doctor told police the injuries were consistent with physical child abuse and that the victims could not have caused the injuries to themselves.
In an interview with police McCarraher acknowledged that he may have injured both of the children out of frustration due to a lack of sleep
At one point McCarraher admitted to breaking one of the victims’ arms when he was upset, telling investigators he was unaware of how fragile the child was.
McCarraher is currently free on $100,000 unsecured bail.
Manheim Borough Police Det. Jeffrey Kiesel filed the charges.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Ponessa will prosecute the case.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
