A man was sentenced to six and a half years to 20 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to raping a woman at knifepoint.

Judge Todd Brown sentenced Jose Miguel Matos-Seda, who has no fixed address, after he pleaded guilty Aug. 11 to a single count of rape.

Matos-Seda, 44, forced a knife to the woman’s throat and then raped her at a residence in the 200 block of East King Street in March 2025. 

The victim told police Matos-Sada brandished the knife, put it to her throat and forced her to undress. Matos-Sade then placed his hand over the victim’s mouth to prevent her from screaming and threatened to stab her 100 times if she refused him sex. 

In a series of messages sent to the victim’s social media, Matos-Sada apologized to the victim, saying he felt “dirty,” promising to never rape her again and telling her that she “disgusted” him. 

Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick prosecuted the case.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police Detective Ryan Burgett filed the charges.
