A Strasburg man charged with 14 offenses related to sex abuse of minors waived his preliminary hearing Monday before Magisterial District Judge William Benner.
David Griffith, 28 of the 1400 block of Village Road, will face two counts of knowingly photographing/filming/depicting a sex act, two counts of child pornography, four counts of corruption of minors, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of invasion of privacy, two counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of harassment in Lancaster County Court.
Pennsylvania State Police began investigating Griffith for child sexual abuse allegations in Oct. 2023. Griffith was employed by Phoenix Academy, volunteered at Lampeter-Strasburg School District as a middle school music director, and worked as a manager at Village Greens Mini Golf.
Investigators discovered Griffith offered oral sex to a juvenile subordinate in exchange for being released early, recorded a 15-year-old victim changing with their knowledge, and admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old when he was 22.
Griffith is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg and volunteered in the past for vacation Bible school and participates in Bible study group.
Griffith was charged Nov. 20, 2023, by Pennsylvania State Trooper Nicholas Reginella. If you or someone you know has or may have had inappropriate contact with the defendant, please contact Trooper Reginella at 717-299-7650.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Griffith is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. Bail was set at $50,000 monetary and court records it has been posted.
