A Lititz woman charged with intentionally crashing into a vehicle, hitting a woman with her car and yelling an ethnic slur will have her case proceed to county court after waiving her preliminary hearing. 

Leanne R. Stoltzfus, of the 300 block of North Broad Street, waived her preliminary hearing before Judge Joseph Stauffer on July 20 on charges of ethnic intimidation, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and two summary traffic offenses.

Stoltzfus, 38, is accused of striking the victim’s vehicle and then the victim herself outside a bank in the first block of Trolley Run Road in Warwick Township the evening of April 27. The victim suffered red marks on her legs and damage to her vehicle.

The victim told police that a suspect later identified as Stoltzfus was behind her in the bank’s ATM drive-through and began beeping at her to hurry up, then rear-ended her with her vehicle around 7:20 p.m.  After the victim exited the vehicle Stoltzfus reversed and then drove forward again, striking the victim with the bumper of her vehicle. 

Before leaving the scene Stoltzfus is accused of shouting an ethnic slur at the victim. Stoltzfus left without notifying police of the crash, providing personal or insurance information to the victim or rendering aid to the victim.

Surveillance footage from outside the bank purports to depict Stoltzfus striking the victim’s vehicle and then the victim. The footage does not include sound. 

When questioned by police Stoltzfus admitted to striking the victim’s vehicle but denied striking the victim and yelling the ethnic slur. 

Stoltzfus remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Officer Victoria Walton filed the charges.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
